About Little Silver NJ
Little Silver is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of a 2018 census its estimated population is 5,813 people. Little Silver was originally established with a King’s land grant in 1663 and settled in 1667. It was incorporated as a borough in 1923 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. Although there are various versions of the origin of the name Little Silver, the most likely is that the two Parker brothers, Joseph and Peter, named their land holdings in the area “Little Silver” after their father’s estate in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Little Silver borders on the Monmouth County towns of Fair Haven, Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Red Bank, Rumson and Shrewsbury.
