The Borough of Bay Head
Bay Head is a borough in Ocean County NJ with an approximate population of 1,000 (permanent, as opposed to summer) residents. It’s situated on the Barnegat Peninsula, often called Barnegat Bay Island, a long narrow barrier island that separates Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. With the town of Mantoloking, Bay Head is considered part of the Jersey Shore’s “Gold Coast”. Its name comes from the town’s location, which is at the “head” of Barnegat Bay. Bay Head borders the local towns Brick, Mantoloking, Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach.
