Lake Como is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Its estimated population is 1,694 people. It was originally formed as the borough of South Belmar in 1924. The voters in the borough voted to change its name and it became Lake Como in 2005. Lake Como is presumably named after Lake Como in Italy. The borough borders on the Monmouth County communities of Belmar, Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, and Wall Township.
