Shrewsbury Township is a township located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of a 2018 census its estimated population is 1,000 people. What is now known as Shrewsbury Township was formed in 1693, and was created as a township by the Township Act of 1798 of the New Jersey Legislature. It was named for Shrewsbury, England. Shrewsbury Township is bordered by the Monmouth County municipalities of Shrewsbury and Tinton Falls.
