About Tinton Falls NJ
Tinton Falls is a borough located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of a 2018 census its estimated population is 17,563 people. It was formed in 1950 as New Shrewsbury by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. It was renamed Tinton Falls in 1975 to avoid postal confusion. The name Tinton Falls came from Lewis Morris’s plantation Tinton Manor. Also the borough is home to the highest falls on New Jersey’s coastal plain. Tinton Falls is bordered by the Monmouth County municipalities of Colts Neck, Eatontown, Middletown, Neptune, Ocean, Red Bank, Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Township, and Wall.
